Sunderland isn't just about football for me. It's the city where I fell in love with my wife. Penshaw Monument, Seaburn Beach, and the National Glass Centre: every part of the city holds a piece of our cherished memories. That's why supporting Sunderland AFC has always meant more to me than simply supporting a football club.
I have been a fan of Sunderland AFC since 2014. Over the years, the football club had its ups and downs... though, to be honest, mostly downs for a decade or so, until it returned the English Premier League in 2025.
The club had been suffering for a long time and as a fan, nothing tastes sweeter than watching it fight its way back from the very bottom and going back to the spotlight.
